![]() Ive narrowed it down to the few below, based on any quality sound tests I could track down. I prefer short and light to keep weapon size compact. It is probably a little bit less loud than a subsonic. Im ready to buy a can just for use on a 300 Blk subsonic, 8' barrel, occasional supers. According to Winchesters website, the 22 short has a MV of 1095 fps from a rifle, which is just subsonic. IF overall short length is the goal, I'd just SBR the receiver and put a 6" or 10" threaded KIDD + can = 11-16" OAL. Hi New to this forum, but it looked like the right place to get some feedback on suppressors. I believe Orkan has a good write up somewhere about his experience with an integral and there are some more over at rimfire central. My NFA dealer even said he wouldn't carry them anymore because of complaints of mediocre accuracy in both the Gemtech and Huntertown Arms (out of business now, IIRC) versions that he sold. It is perfect for areas where noise may be a problem and is ideal for introducing youth to the shooting sports. Ballistics Information: Muzzle Velocity: 710 fps. Another thing I, personally, recommend is to try a suppressed. Test: Posting an average velocity of 1042 fps, Winchester’s Super-X 22 Long Rifle Subsonic load was the fastest of the bunch, and it was the loudest, too. This ammunition is new production and non-corrosive. Subsonic 9mm ammo, on the other hand, sounds significantly better because that sharp crack is eliminated. It is ideal for bolt-action and single-shot 22 LR rifles, and generates 75 percent less perceived noise than standard velocity 22 LR rounds. For small game or varmint hunting, this ammunition will make sure you get it done. I've just come across too many examples of ppl not being happy with accuracy from the integrated units to take a chance. Product Overview Set your 22 to stealth mode with CCI Quiet-22. ![]() A couple of my rifles shoot better with a suppressor attached (harmonic tuning). Would need an accuracy guarantee of some sort before buying, good luck with that.Ģ) A separate can may be used on several hosts, both pistol and rifle.ģ) Cleaning of an integral might be a real challenge, carbon locked baffles might be something to research first.Ĥ) You'll still get some port noise when the action cycles, my bolt action 22's are quieter then my 10/22 actions with the same suppressor used between them. ![]() (I don't know if replacing the barrel in an integral is ok or if that is creating a new suppressor with the involved paperwork, SOT issues) Much safer bet to just get a threaded barrel from a known good mfgr and a separate can, easier to replace a bad barrel than an integrated barrel/can. Almost went this route a number of years ago before common sense kicked in.ġ) Big drawback is "IF" your suppressed barrel assembly doesn't shoot worth a crap then you are stuck with it unless you want to spend big $$$ attempting to fix it.
